Before school starts I usually become agitated and restless, not exactly looking forward to classes. But I find that once school starts, I start getting into the motions of going to class/working/studying again. I'm much more excited about this semester; now that I've attended the lectures for each class, I know that I'm tres interested in all my classes (except maybe accounting). Work is the same as usual, oddly enough it seems more busy these days in Moffit and seeing the new hirees on their first "real shifts" is definitely entertaining.
I'm finally going to start joining some new groups this semester/year, and I'm extremely excited about it. I feel like I haven't exactly branched out a lot , even though I want to. I want to join something that peaks my interest...perhaps an investing group or a group dealing with international relations/economic devleopment.
Now that school has started and that I'm finally taking the upper division courses for my major, I can safely say that I chose correctly. I love my classes(even though they are hard) ; the subjects are intriguing and the professors are practical and seem to know what they are doing. Microeconomics is going to be...killer, but the professor seems like a really good professor. No matter which class I'm in though, one thing is for sure...I'm going to become intimately acquainted with Microsoft Excel. Yay spreadsheets.....that's going to be my life after college. Numbers and spreadsheets; weirdly enough I'm not turned off by it. I've realized long ago that papers are definitely not my thing....I love to read, and I've seen some of the books that English majors read. They're all good literature, but I would rather read it for leisure than analyze it and write 10 paged papers on it. So all in all, I'm extremeley happy with my major.
I also have a future for myself in mind...working for a banking firm for 1-2 years, grad school, and then working in policies that deal with economic development for an international organization or govt. Ah school....I always have so many ambitions in the beginning but as the school year drags on...they seem to disappear into thin air. We'll see how this school year turns out.
* Most Ambitious Goal*
Since I'm not taking Chinese this year ,I will attempt to read one news article in Chinese every 4 days...or every week....considering each article is like 4 pages long
