What a day, today Corrie and I went to Emeryville with the sole task of watching the Dark Knight, but as usual, after buying the tickets in the late morning for an afternoon showing we veered off and window-shopped around Emeryville. Oh and yes, we went actual shopping too, getting some pretty nice stuff that was on sale at H&M and I finally got bookends from Ikea. Then we had lunch and chilled at Barnes and Nobles, reminisced about old books we used to read as children when perusing the Children's Section. I had major nostalgia over many series that I used to read (Wayside School and Goosebumps!). We were there long enough to not realize that a line was forming outside the theater for The Dark Knight.
But anyways we still got really nice seats for the movie, and the movie itself was SPECTACULAR! I absolutely loved it and was thoroughly freaked out by Ledger's chilling performance as the Joker. It indeed lived up to all the hype and expectation that was out there. Heath Ledger was AMAZING as Joker; I really can't imagine Joker played by anyone else now. Besides Ledger, the movie was nicely done a lot of subtle and some major social commentaries running through it with an excellent plot line and some good action sequences. All in all, the movie was extremey enjoyable and Corrie and I kept praising it long after we stepped out of the theater.
In fact, the day was rather enjoyable, especially after a week of work. It was nice to go out and shop and watch a movie. I got home and basically just chilled as always (currently catching up on Lost). And due to my nostalgia of the past, I finally, finally finally, ordered the Old Kingdom Trilogy by Garth Nix- which is basically Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen- to add to my growing book collecetion. It's a fantasy story-but well-written with a fantastic plot. I remember loving it in high school and I'm sure I'd love it after I reread it too:D I got it new at such a great price too! I'm so excited, haha my reading list just grew longer and yet sadly I'm still on my first book-_-. I am determined to do some light reading this summer! (Besides my magazines-Finally ordered Fortune Magazine too).
On a side note, I also decided to change my background, because as cute as the previous one was, it hurt my eyes since it was so bright. This one is much better:)
